YOU ARE LOVABLE.
As a young child, I wore my heart on my sleeve. Around the age of ten, I learned from adults and peers that it’s not okay to be a sensitive boy; boys are supposed to be manly, strong, and aggressive. To help ease the pain of the teasing, bullying, and mocking, I learned I could wear a mask. This mask prevented me from feeling the pain and hurt.
Eventually, this mask became a solid suit of armor, which shut down my heart from caring about myself. This armor also prevented me from caring and having deep compassion for other people. From my healing journey, I learned and am sharing with you that what others think or say about you doesn’t matter. You are lovable the way you are.
