5 Signs Your Soul is Speaking to You
Have you ever had an unshakable knowing about something but couldn’t explain why? That’s your soul speaking to you. The problem? It whispers, while the noise of daily life shouts over it.
We tend to ignore these messages or dismiss them as coincidences, but they’re anything but. Your soul is always guiding you—nudging, pulling, and sometimes shoving you toward alignment. The question is: Are you listening?
Here are five signs your soul is speaking to you and how to tune in.
1. A Deep, Unshakable Feeling
Your heart always knows the truth—it speaks through feelings, nudges, and an inner pull (or resistance). The tricky part? We often override it out of guilt, obligation, or fear.
For example, you might know deep down that it’s time to leave a job, but you stay because you “should.” Or maybe a friendship no longer feels aligned, but you hold on because you don’t want to hurt anyone.
Your heart, which is deeply connected to God (or Source, or whatever name resonates with you), is nudging you toward something greater. The more you ignore it, the louder the discomfort grows.
How to Listen: Pay attention to where you feel resistance and where you feel expansive. If something drains you, your soul is nudging you away from it.
2. Losing Passion for Something You Once Loved
One of the most overlooked signs of soul growth is when something that once lit you up no longer excites you.
This happened to me with gaming. I used to love it—the rewards, the excitement, the next best thing. But over time, I started feeling… bored. I kept playing, not because I wanted to, but because I felt like I should. It became more about the fear of missing out than actual enjoyment.
That’s when I realized: My soul had already moved on.
How to Listen: When boredom creeps in, ask yourself—am I truly enjoying this, or am I holding on out of habit or fear?
3. Being Pushed Out of Your Comfort Zone
Your soul doesn’t want you to stay small. It wants expansion, growth, and new experiences. That means it will push you into situations that feel uncomfortable but necessary.
For me, this was stepping out and sharing my truth online—through this blog, social media, and my art. It terrified me. I didn’t want to be seen. But deep down, I knew this was part of my path. The more I resisted, the more restless I became.
How to Listen: Discomfort doesn’t always mean “stop.” Sometimes, it means “this is the next step.” Lean into it.
4. Repeating Signs & Synchronicities
The universe (and your soul) communicates in patterns. Signs and synchronicities are everywhere—you just have to be open to receiving them.
For me, it’s numbers. Every time I think about something that aligns with my path—writing, applying for a vendor market, staying at a job that fulfills me—I start seeing 721 (my birthday), 422 (my mom’s birthday), or 603 (New Hampshire’s area code).
Music is another big one. When I’m struggling, a song will almost always appear with the exact message I need. Hold On for One More Day by Wilson Phillips. Magic by Olivia Newton-John, are two examples of so many more songs. The right lyrics at the right moment.
How to Listen: Pay attention to repeating numbers, words, songs, or themes. Your logical mind will try to dismiss them. Don’t let it.
5. Strong Emotional Reactions
Sometimes, your soul speaks in tears, chills, or an unexplainable emotional pull.
I’ll never forget my first mediumship reading. We did the meditation to connect with Spirit, and suddenly, I was weeping. I didn’t expect it, but my soul recognized what was happening.
Another time, a psychic told me I was here to teach the world about love—not just in words, but in action. The moment she said it, something inside me lit up. It wasn’t about being special; it was about remembering what I had always known but never fully embraced.
How to Listen: When something moves you to your core—pay attention. That’s your soul recognizing truth.
Final Thoughts
Your soul is always speaking. The more you listen, the louder it becomes.
Your heart is the key to all of this—it’s constantly pointing the way, whether through feelings, synchronicities, or deep emotional reactions. Pay attention. Trust it. And most importantly, follow where it leads. Want to go deeper into self-discovery and listening to your inner truth? My book, Hi Mom, I Love You, shares my journey of learning to trust myself, embrace who I am, and listen to my soul’s calling.
